Importing historical orders into Vinosmith is straightforward. This feature is only suggested for organizations with manual integration.
What You Need to Get Started:
- The Historical Data that you will be importing into Vinosmith
- Download a copy of our current template
- Click on My Account
- Click on Manage
- Click on Import Orders From File
- The template can be found at the top of the Import Orders From File page
- Review the importing instructions on the Import Orders From File page to help familiarize yourself with which items/fields are required to have a successful upload
Essential Requirements - Data Check
- Are all items included in these historical orders in Vinosmith? -- All items must be in Vinosmith for the order(s) to be imported.
- A new item can be created, or a current item can be cloned:
- To create a new wine, click on Wines, click on New Wine, and complete as needed
- To clone a current item, our knowledge base article can help walk you through the process -- Create Wines Based on Existing Wines
- A new item can be created, or a current item can be cloned:
- Do the primary units (cases or bottles) match? Your Primary Unit mode must match the unit you use in Vinosmith. For example, if your items are in case mode in Vinosmith, the pricing and quantities on the spreadsheet will also need to be in cases.
Next Steps:
- Complete the template with your historical data and save your file
- Go to the Import Orders From File page by following these steps:
- Click on My Account
- Click on Manage
- Click on Import Orders From File
- Select the appropriate parameters for your file
- Click on the box next to Dry Run? -- this will perform an analysis and notify you of any data issues (this will not import any orders)
- Please note: the Dry Run? box would need to be unchecked for the data to be imported
- Click on Import
